The Swaminarayan Mandir or temple at Vadtal near Nadiad is a gem off the beaten track. It is an hour and half drive from Ahmedabad, about 70 KM's away. It's an important place of worship for the followers of the Swaminarayan sect.

The facilities and the crowd were comparable to those in Tirupati: Grand, majestic surroundings, clean dining hall, free (or almost free VIP pass) food, temple store.

This is one of the old temple - more than 200 years with lot of wooden work. The temple is believed to be established by Shri Sahjanand Swami himself.
