When passing by, I strongly recommend to visit this amazing place. It is definitely one of a kind! Be prepared to spend about two hours exploring all of the tunnels and yes, it is pretty cold inside. The fortress itself looks like it was abandoned...More

This Fortress is a must see. It is very well presented and has so many things to look at and interact with. The small included museum is interesting. You can also see where the soldiers lived - their rifles and shoes are still there! All...More

We drove to the Gotthard Pass in our rental car mainly to see this once secret Swiss Army underground fortification built during the WWII era. It is cold in the tunnels (46 degrees) so a jacket and sturdy shoes is good. We had to walk...More

One of our "must sees" on our trip to Switzerland was a bunker. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Sasso San Gottardo. We took the Glacier Express from Zermatt to Andermatt and stayed there overnight (so we could also see Devil's Bridge http://www.teufelsbruecke.ch ). We...More

This is an excellent museum and quite a surprise. I don't think that the leaflet does the fortress element justice. Access to and from the fortress can be quite time consuming. The "metro" (small funicular) taking you up to the level of the fortress only...More

This place has been kept as a secret for a long long time and has been transformed into a museum just 3 years ago. We have combined the visit with a trip to Bellizona which is only 1hr drive in the afternoon. This is a...More
