This is lovely location for a day trip from Bangalore. Beautiful place with lovely old Vijayanagara style temple, big monolithic Nandi and a newest Jatayu park. Pack your foods and go as there are no decent eating places nearby.

Lepakshi is the abode of Lord Veerabhadra Swamy. It was built during Vijayanagara Kings about 350 years back. It is advisable to take a guide to explain the importance of the place. Do plan for packed meals as the place does not cater for it.

Lepakshi Nandi greets you when you come near to the temple premise. Supposedly carved out of a single rock this is a magnificent piece of architecture. Really makes you wonder how our ancestors achieved this level of finesse with the limited tools at their disposal.

This nandhi is facing temple even though it is outside the temple. Very big and massive. A guide will give you some amazing facts about it. It is best viewed from Jatayu view point.

It's a big stone, old architecture. Nicely maintained and worth seeing it. It is just 2 hours drive from Bengaluru, a very good day trip option.
