Takes you to a land of wilderness. Thick forest with red snaking roads in-between....a deserted watch tower waiting anxiously for tourists...perhaps was frequently climbed earlier but now alone without any companion, talking to trees and creepers.....a runaway built few hundreds of years ago by the...More

It is on the way to Bishnupur from Arambagh/ Tarakeshwar. Nice place. A treat to the eye after some congested towns of Chatra and Kotulpur. Must visit the Deypara Damodar Mandir and Duttapara Temple near the jungle to see the old terracotta temples.

A solitary sanctuary with dense forest located 10KM from Bishnupur and 140KM from Kolkata. Thickly forest stippled with skyscraping Sal, Palash, Kusum, Mahua, Neem and Teak trees, which does not allow the daring sunlight to touch the bottom at some places. Staying in an exceedingly...More

There's nothing much to do here but to enjoy the runway which is built by Britishers during the World War II. One can also visit the Watch Tower nearby however you can't expect to spot any wildlife.

There is not much to do here. If you love jungle you'll love the surroundings. It is serene and tranquil. To be honest, only the Banalata Resort is here to enjoy, nothing else.

Driving through the forest was pleasure. Clicked some good photos. Surprisingly didnt see any bird left alone any animal. But have heard that during winters birds can be seen early morning. Possibly its the global change affecting Joypur forest as well. A particular stretch of...More

Joypur jungle is a well-known picnic spot for the localites. Tree failing is a problem in this poorly guarded forest as security is mot very strong. This is causing thinning of vegetation and stealing the beauty of the forest. There is a decent resort called...More
