We came from Dharwad for a Sunday day trip. We went to supa backwaters. It's supa dam in Juda. It's a big water body, had to take jungle safari ride to the lake. We did boating there, could.spot lot of bison who came down to drink water. The places reminded of pykara ooty

Entry is restricted inside Supa Dam premises, but from far you can a mesmerizing view of supa dam. Outside supa dam premises there is a bridge where you can take a view of flow of kali river and good spot to take some candid photos.

this dam is under govt control as there is a power generating station there. However with some permissions you can go upto the actual dam. alternatively there are few viewpoints overlooking the reservoir. some watersports is also available but need to check with locals about it before looking out for it. when trekking around this dam be careful as it is in the tiger conservation area, surrounded by dense forest. apart from tigers there are leopards so extra caution is necessary. not many hotels around so make your own food arrangements. govt buses provide transportation to the town nearby.

Supa Dam is located at Ganeshgudi and it has huge water storage. Boating is not available but nature around Dam is beautiful. You can spot many birds around the Dam area as well.

We did not visited the DAM site as it is a protected site and not everyone can visit it. But the backwaters are HUGE and Site of DAM is very scenic. DAM is easily watchable from passing by Road. Just make a stop by and have a look at this Engineering Marvel.
