In the foothills of the Prokletije mountains, at a place where long vanished glaciers used to exist, the valley housing the Plav Lake is located. The Ljuca river carries the cold and clear water of the Prokletije snow to the Plav Valley, across the Ali-Pasha Springs, all the way to the Plav Lake.

If traveling in this area, certainly visit this lake. It is a pretty lake next to the small town of Plav. You can drive around its circumference through some tiny settlements.

It was too cold to swim, and we didn't see anyone to rent a boat from, but the view was pretty. Lots of birds to watch.

The lake is beautiful, clear to the bottom, nice for a swim or paddle boat. The town is very small and very littered with trash, if not for the lake there really would be no reason to stop.

This is a moderately sized mountain lake. Surrounded by mountains and the small town. It is good for swimming, fishing, boating or just walking around. We spent around 30 mins there.

The lake of Plav is one of this unique lakes in Montenegro because of the surrounding mountains and the high altitude above the sea level. For all nature lovers is a great place to spend few days on the wild nature
