10 min from the promenade of Sliema, you meet this square and beach that accesses with steps, small, artificial sand... several bars, supermarkets and benches to stop. Carinomper place relax, although the area I found it busier. Here we tasted in a pizzeria the famous pastizzi alla ricotta at 0.80e... very good! I recommend visiting the place, only if you are in the area.

If you talk the walk around St Julians Bay from Spinola Bay you will arrive in around 20 mins at Balluta Sq. There is an outdoor swimming pool here home of a Water Polo team and Maltese swimming clubs. There are plenty of places to stop and buy a drink and just watch the world go by.

Balluta Square is a lovely little area with seating and a kiosk/cafe selling drinks and snacks (and with a large glass of wine at €1.50 and a beer at €1.80 it is a bargin). We have a holiday home just up the road from the square and it is lovely place to sit in the shade of the trees with a drink watching the world go by. It is directly across the road from bay itself so convenient if you're on your way back from a swim and the bay and the boats are a nice view.

If you are standing at the opposite side of the Church that's a very instagrammable place if you are into this kind of stuff.
There are many restaurants and bars.

I doubt I have sat in a more simple, yet beautiful square, you directly overlook a perfectly formed small bay, with dazzling blue water. You easily find shade under trees, sitting at simple tables, serviced by a green kiosk, that sometimes takes a while to serve you, but no rush, why would you wish to be anywhere else... The food on offer is simple but very good, from home made pies and pizzas, to very interesting looking cakes and other equally enticing bites... The 2 main stays are perhaps sisters, who clearly work long hours but seem to have a smile and sense of humour to make your visit enjoyable...You can drink coffee, tea, beer, wine and even brandy and the like, with kids well catered for also with soft drinks and ice cream... It actually doesn't matter that you will have drunk better wine or brandy elsewhere, you will do well to find a better place to enjoy whiling away a little time with, locals and holiday makers alike... We visited on a daily basis, and always wanted to return tomorrow, we even bought food there to take home and enjoy in the evening... gorgeous happy memories...

Though small, this tree shaded area hosts a number of restaurants and bars and a kiosk selling drinks and snacks.
We had a lovely meal at Scruples - the bragioli (beef olives) were delicious.
This is aplace where locals as well as tourists come to pass the time and enjoy alittle relaxation.

A visit to Malta would not be complete without a visit to Balluta. The whole area is chock-full of restaurants from Fast food places to very posh places. However, Summer or Winter, whenever you are there, it's the peaceful view of Balluta Bay in the evening that most tourists remember and take back home with them.
