We bought 1 day ticket for the seaside and we spent 25 euro per person and don’t provide towels. I asked why ? And the receptionist reply that is for the COVID-19 they are not allowed to provide towels to the guest . In this case they should reduce the price of the ticket for this uncomfortable situation , but they don’t care about guests..

When paying for a day by the pool, the employee told us that €55 is for entrance and includes €25 coupons for FOOD ONLY. When we asked about drinks she told us that they are all inclusive WITHOUT needing to use the coupons. Turns out, €25 coupons were for both food & drinks.

I was deeply disappointed this morning to see that the Reef club opening hours have been reduced by 20% (8 hours instead of 10) and yet, the price was the regular €30 for public holidays. One cannot understand why we were charged full price for a reduced service outside peak season.
What is even more concerning however, is that when I brought this to the attention of the "manager" - the embodiment of arrogance and incompetence - I was told that if the price didn't suit me I was welcome to leave. Is this the standard of the Westin's Customer Service? Did this woman seriously think my issue was a few euros? Clearly their pricing policy needs to be revised, as does basic training for their client-facing staff.

Honestly I do believe that this is the best hotel on the island. Amazing atmosphere and excellent service. I will definitely go again as my family loves it. Keep it up guys. Well done to the team and the management behind it. You will see us again next summer.

Having stayed at Le Meridien 14/7/2010, a sister hotel of the Westin Dragonara, which did not have a beach front, I was sent by the concierge to spend the day at the Golden Reef beach club of the Westin to have a taste of the sea and beach. We reached the entrance, paid the entrance fees, then asked for towels only to be told by the cashier that towels were STRICTLY exclusive to 'hotel guests' despite the fact that the Meridien staff reassured me that towels will be definitely provided by the Westin at the door since it is a sister hotel hence there was no need for me to take any with me. I tried to reason with the manager of the beach club but in vain. They simply refused to supply towels at the door, although I put them through to the Meridien concierge, who also tried to reason with the management as well but it all fell on deaf ears. Eventually, my daughter and I managed to spot a nice location on the beach overlooking the seafront. However, 50% of this particular area was cordoned and 1/2 of the sun decks were covered with a large A4 size papers in bold large print 'RESERVED FOR HARROGATE' I eventually embarked on 2 sun decks few meters away from the cordoned area but within the same location. As soon as we settled down, the manager turned up to inform us that this area was booked for clients from Harrogate, however we were allowed to stay there till 1:00 p.m. We ordered some food which was overpriced and unpalatable. I ordered a Greek salad which contained wilted lettuce leaves, very cheap tasteless and cheap 'Danish' white cheese and tinned cheap imported calamata pitted tasteless olives (although Malta is known for its delicious homemade olives and olive oil). The dressing was dreadful, a sachet of mayonnaise and Ketchup nowhere near a Greek salad dressing. We ordered one diet Coke which was totally flat and fresh orange juice, which turned out to be a hint of juice reconstituted with water. We ordered 2 fresh fruit salads, which turned out to be an appalling concoction of ROTTING FRUITS IN SYRUPY water. In my opinion manager and Chef should be SACKED. I paid over 50 Euros for this disastrous selection of food. In the end I was forced to take back the fruit salad and show it to the manager who was adamant that it was 'freshly' prepared in the morning. I asked him to simply taste it to prove my point, he simply squashed an apple with his fingers then suggested that he replaces it with a freshly prepared one, which I agreed to and requested fresh grapes and pineapples without the dreadful syrupy water, which turned out to be acceptable in the end but certainly not worth the money I paid for. Then, my daughter and I took a dip in the beautiful clear sea waters, whilst enjoying our peaceful swim, 2 waiters turned up on shore, started waving at us asking us to vacate the place since the Harrogate crowd were on their way... we promised them to move as soon as their 'special crowd' from Harrogate turned up, but they refused demanded that we give up our seats immediately move our stuff and sit elsewhere regardless whether the crowd turns up or not. We obliged, INCONVENIENCED OURSELVES, only to be disappointed that NO ONE turned up AT ALL to the cordoned area throughout the entire stay (till 5:30 p.m.)!!!. When one of the waiters was asked what was all this fuss about 'pre booking an entire area to Harrogate clients' we were told that the management was instructed one week ago to pre book this particular area to an anticipated crowd from Harrogate who in actual effect NEVER TURNED UP. I found it most appalling, POOR TASTE and POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE from the Westin management! They certainly need an extensive training course in customer relations and good mannerism. In my opinion this hotel should be rated as a mere 3 stars rather than 5 stars, food was awful, management attitude was rude, belligerent and vile. I bet you the hotel is as bad as its beach club. Having travelled extensively and visited top hotels in different countries in my life, I have never witnessed anything as nasty as this! In my opinion manager and chef should be sacked.

One of the best spots at Westin Dragonara Resort to relax, swim, sunbathe or just to have a snack and some drinks. The pool is large an rather deep at the seaside. If you want some food or drinks you can order it via WhatsApp and the Reefbar-crew will serve it to your deckchair within a few minutes.

The Reef Club is perfectly located for swimming in the Med. Its rock pool is sheltered and just right for a quick dip in the sea, or swim further out if you want to.
Entry is EXPENSIVE at Euro 18 per person just to get in. For that you get a sunbed/umbrella. A waiter service offers drinks/snacks but you'd be lucky to find a waiter in the first place. No bins anywhere - means that rubbish is left uncleared or, sometimes, litters the sea. Showers are a tiny trickle of water. For my Euro 18, at a Westin resort, I expected more.

The service at lunch on a busy day is not good enough and does not match the location. We were disappointed and would advise to make sure you do not go if it is busy.

There are also many other lovely pools available for day members. A google search can help identify a number of these. Most hotels allow day memberships, so as other lidos. Many can be found in the Bugibba/Qawra area, like the Luzzu Lido, Sunny Coast, Café Del Mar, Amazonia...
They all charge a fee, some include lunch, while all include sunbeds and parasols.
You may also find some good deals including lunch on dealtoday Malta at reduced prices
Hope this helps
