Great views of the Dam and well worth the trip up the mountain. Fascinating facts on the information panels. Nothing beats the view and walk along the top of the dam - almost above the tree line. Fantastic

We visited Sysendammen as part of a shore excursion during a Norwegian fjord cruise port stop at Eidfjord, Beautiful views and interesting engineering features of the dam. Nice location to walk and take in the natural beauty.

we called to look at the dam on our way back to Oslo. It was bitterly cold, but the views were worth it. You can walk along the top of the dam wall,

Gorgeous views of the surrounding area and farms below and the reservoir behind the dam and the glaciers above. You can walk right on the dam or go down the beach area or roam through the fields. Everywhere you turn is a "pretty picture".

This would be a good place for possibly walking and fishing....with some views available of glaciers, etc, dependent on weather conditions. Whilst not so spectacular in itself, it was impressive to hear that this has been built using individual stones and there were informative boards...More

Close to the road RV 7, descending from Hardangervidda you can visit the dam "Sysendammen". This is an impressive construction of 3,6 million cubic meters, made of rock and moraine. Imagine a cube of 153x153x153 filled with rock - that is 3,6 mill cu m....More
