If you love animals but you don't like to see them in zoos, this working wildlife sanctuary is a wonderful place to visit. Only an hour north of Sydney city, you can meet kangaroos, emus and wallabies living free in 80 acres of Australian bush. Natural camps house koalas, wombats, Tasmanian devils, dingoes, flying foxes, echidnas, pythons, cockatoos and all their feathered, furry, scaly and spiky friends. Follow the walking tracks to visit ancient Aboriginal sites. Open every day from 9am to 5pm, or book an overnight ranger-led Wild Night Out. Fun and safe for children and adults alike. This is not an intense commercial experience with concrete paths and play areas. This is the real Australian bush.

We absolutely loved this place. From the moment we came in we were in the middle of Kangaroos and Emus freely walking around and - following the right instructions - easy to approach and pet. Every 30 minutes the rangers were sharing information about the...More

Very Friendly atmosphere . Not overcrowded . Good value . Adored all of the wildlife and especially loved the orphaned baby wombat. Great job thanks to all the caring and hard working staff. You deserve to be supported by the community .

We had a fantastic time. We went on Good Friday and had a close-up encounter with most animals in the park. Staff are welcoming and really devoted to the animals. Price is fair and the animals are well looked after.

I joined the day trip tour way to Hunter Valley from Sydney, and stopped by Walkabout Wildlife Park in the morning. It was so nice to visit there, we could meet adorable Australian animals including a Koala, and Kangaroos. Especially, a Koala, it was so...More

Visited with relatives from the UK and although it is small we found it to be good with only small number people compared to hundreds at the bigger wildlife parks. Brilliant personal service and every half hour they do interactiobs with native animals with great...More

I won’t repeat my previous comments from 2017. I like the Australian Walkabout Wildlife Park and this year the highlight was feeding the Kangaroos and wallabies. Seeing the keeper playing with Tonka the 14 month old Wombat who lost his Mum, “teaching him how to...More

Walkabout is a small family owned wildlife park where the rangers are passionate about the animals in their care. We spent a very pleasant 4 hours ambling around the lovely grounds with a kangaroo or emu to greet us around every corner. The rangers give...More

I've visited the park several times and always enjoy the time there. This time we brought a family member from overseas who loves wombats. The "speed date" with one of the wombats was already a highlight, but the friendly and accommodating staff went even further...More

This is a great locally ran wildlife park, which features predominantly rescued local wildlife. The park is regularly cleaned and staff are very approachable and knowledgeable. Certainly a must see more affordable version of the reptile park.
