Mindeerup, the new Gateway to South Perth, has won two awards from the Australian Insitute of Landscape Archiects (WA). It feaured in the category for Tourism and also Civil Landscapes. Two creatures feature in the Gateway the numnat and the frilled neck liczrd, both of which are native to South Perth. The gateway also features a light show. The Gateway cost $7.5 million, mostly from the City of South Perth. It's proved to be quite an attraction. for the many people who use Mends St Jetty every year.

We were in the area since we stopped by Gelare for an afternoon sugar pick me up. We ended dup walking around the foreshore area as well since the giant animal like shelter caught my eye.
There are a few of these interesting animal statues scattered around the area. The frilled neck lizard is also visible from the other side of the river and fairly easy to spot. It is well worth the visit to to try and spot these things. There is also a nice grassy area nearby to relax on as well as a small playground. It also has nice views of the city.

South Perth abounds in public art, with high quality art and cultural experiences. Mindeerup is the gateway to South Perth, at Mends St Jetty. The Gateway experience gives a great view of Perth City, across the Swan River. Mindeerup features statues of two animals native to the area, a numbat and a frill-necked lizard. There's also the Mend St shopping and dining precinct, The Art Walk is 1 3/4 km (around a mile), with lots of things to see, and public open space.

The first things that we noticed were the enormous artworks of the numbat and frill neck lizard, both have a practical purpose in providing shade for visitors. Certainly impressive, and not to be outdone, the smaller meercats groups, the figures made from crocheted polypropylene, and nearby, the emus with their looks of distain. Equally impressive are the colourful indigenous patterns incorporated in the pavements. Disembark the ferry and its a starting point to visit many of Perth's finest restaurants. We simply have to return and see the sound and light show.

Mindeerup, also known as the South Perth Piazza, has a free sound and light show every night. It's near Mends Street Jetty. Mindeerup has a giant numbat and a frill neck lizard. These striking statues act as a gateway from the City of Perth to Perth Zoo and greater South Perth in general. The ferry has been pulling into Mends St Jetty for as long as anyone an remember. It connects to Eliizabeth Quay in the city. Mindeerup is an Aboriginal word, asssociated wiht the South Perth area. South Perth is a prosperous area, Mindeerup will certainly add to its lustre.

Minedeerup is the new entry to South Perth. It adjoins trhe Mends St jetty. It has two inconic structuress -- the frill neck lizand and the numbat, both found in days gone by in the South Perth area. Mindeerup, also known as the South Perth Piazza, hosts a sound and light show every night. Mindeerup is intended to act as a gateway to the Perth Zoo, and the wider South Perth area. The numbat and frrill liizard structures are impressive, you can't miss them. By the way "up" om the end of a word in Noongar language means "place of water."
