Even if you don't make it out to wilderness, you should stop here. Great information in the salmon lifecycle. Whoever made the recordings for the different fish explaining what kind of fish they are and their activity definitely had a sense if humor. The exhibit...More

We popped in after our bear viewing flight. Very well presented, a joy to visit. Sat and watched the short film and wandered around the exhibits, this is a wonderful place. Free entry but donations welcomed. Well worth a visit.

Great introduction to Kodiak wildlife. The whale skeleton and its background story are worth the visit, but the displays on other animals are very well done too. However this is not the place to see live animals.

Extremely impressed with the exhibits in that the animals were never real and killed for display. The various scenes were very well put together. The mom bear with two cubs in a den was spectular as were the bears fishing in a stream with salmon....More

Not very large but every display was interesting and easily accessible. No fee and they even have a small gift shop.

Its just a short walk to the visitor center and worth it. Take a look around, gift shop is nice. All kinds of hand outs. The displays are fun as is the WHALE hanging from the ceiling;.

Very good visitor center with lots of info. The regular, small visitor center is directly across the street. This had a film and good information right in Kodiak. It is also free.

Raining the day we were in Kodiak and this was a very informative inside venue. Informative talks and lots of good information about the area, animals and culture.
