Amazing view, white sand, insanely blue water, only two people living on the Island. Perfect for a 4hr stay with sunbathing, photo shooting and nice walk around the Island. You can see the reef on the way there, but due dynamite fishing it is not as nice as in other parts of Philippines. Still with insanely clear water this was fun!
If you plan to go from Sibuyan, support local fisherman!
There is not much info about the trips on Sibuyan so you have to ask around but we already did that and found amazing guy - Peejay from town of Azagra. He and his father took us with their boat for an amazing 40 minute ride. We have spent 4 hrs on the Island and took a small stop to snorkel around small reef. We were lucky and also see flying fish on the way to the Island, and swarms of small fishes jumping over the water on our way back. Definitely a must! The Island is private and is still virgin land - for most of the time we were the only visitors on the Island.
The boat was a normal fishing boat so if you expect high luxury skip this one ;) If you want to enjoy the trip like locals do and having amazing experience, call Peejay: +63 09059022159
Please donate the only family leaving on the island. They have resisted against selling the island to the government for the sake of the local fishermen.

You need to bring everything with you . There is no fresh water in the island . One family live there . One day is not enough ---better to stay overnight . Ask asistance in Lauras shop . Photos from Olympus c 50-60 , colours are natural - No photoshop!

It's an islet that is about an hour's boat ride from Sibuyan Island and inhabited only by a couple who serve as its caretakers. It's a good place to unwind and just enjoy the bounty and beauty that nature has to offer: powdery white sand (sandbar!), crystal clear waters, fresh seafood and a beautiful view of Sibuyan Island.
But be prepared to bring everything that you will need (especially drinking water and some form of shelter) for the duration of your stay as there are no amenities on the island save for a few makeshift cottages. If you love seafood, you can catch your own food. Our group brought a small banca and we caught a lot of octopus! There are also plenty of sea urchins in the nearby reef for you to feast on. I'm no diver but I would imagine that the surrounding reef has plenty to offer to diving enthusiasts.
The beach on the east side of the island is the best area for swimming. We got there as the tide was coming in and the water was very calm, practically like a saltwater swimming pool! The west side though has a rocky seafloor and prone to bigger waves. I also spotted a few jellyfishes.
One can also go around the island especially during low tide. At high tide the southern tip would be a challenge though. Remember to bring protection from the sun and drinking water if you decide to do a walking tour around the island.
I don't really want to make this islet famous as I'd rather keep it a secret hideaway for a lucky few. But I'm writing this review to make a plea to would-be visitors to be responsible travelers and remember to take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints. I would also urge the owner/caretakers to impose a 'take your trash with you' policy. It really made me sad to see non-biodegradable litter around the islet. I wish that they would charge more than the Php 10 entrance fee and put it towards protecting this natural wonder. I hope that this paradise remains unspoiled for future generations.

We went to Sibuyan for one week and it will be one of the most unforgettable trips I have ever had. First off, let me tell you that I love the beach and I have been to a lot of them but Crespa De Gallo or Isla De Gallo as the locals call it is uncomparable. There are no establishments, no electricity, no houses or hotels to stay on but its beauty is enough for you to stay. From Cajiodiocan it takes almost 2 hours to get to Isla De Gallo by boat which yo have to rent for 3,500 php for the whole day but the travel is worth it. You have to bring everything food..water..garbage bags (please do not leave your garbage there) This is literally beach heaven. When we went there it was just me and my friends no one was there escept for the caretaker of the island. We got live Uni, we literally just dived in and looked for it. The water is pristine blue. It was like communing with nature. I LOVE IT THERE.

I visited the islet in 2007 and summer of 2012 with family and friends. Years ago, visiting Cresta de Gallo is not easy and not must-see destination even being a resident of Sibuyan Island. Only few people reached this place considering that Sibuyan is also blessed with beautiful coastline and freshwater tributaries where every one could also enjoy to swim and do other water-related activities such as diving and boating. But surprisingly nowadays, Cresta de Gallo is becoming a local tourist destination. With motorboats available for hire, visitors can now enjoy the crystal clear water and pulverized-shelly sand in all year round. Food and drinking water, including cottages are not available in the islet, so it is recommended to bring along especially for day trips. I have not tried to stay over night but it could be interesting to do it during my next visit this summer 2013.
Aside from siteseeing and strolling along the beach, visitors can also do snorkeling and even collect live shells. It is noticeable that a number of big starfish could be found shallow part of the beach. There is only one family care-taker of the islet and visitors can approach family members to catch fish for a meal. You can rent their "bangkas" for a quick paddling around island. Walking around the islet is recommended especially during the sunset but a little careful of sea snakes.
There are few accommodations availabe in the main island of Sibuyan at affordable rates and Cresta de Gallo is only less than an hour travel time from the main island. Motor boats are the common transport at a minimal rental fee. The islet is also accessible via Boracay Island (Caticlan, Aklan) with a travel time of between 4-5 hours by motor boat.

There are only 2 people living on this small island (guy and his wife). No electricity, water, restaurant etc. Just you, white sand and the ocean. If you visit here, just dont ruin it and make a mess. Pick up after yourself.

Gods Hidden Treasure, the Island of Cresta De Galo is so beautiful we were swimming with sting rays, dolphins, turtles and a wide selection of fish.
There are no resources on the Island, so please pack your food and water, dont forget your camera and sun glasses. You are allowed to Camp on the Island overnight, and wow the sun-sets are amazing, the beaches pure powdery white sands.

Though there's still several huts in the island, it is vacated now after the local government has reached a compromised with a claimant.
Tranquil and scenic, the island is the last remnant of what it looks like before man set forth on a wanton destruction of his environment.
There's no food, no water, no one on the island. Just bring yourself and leave nothing.

Hi Peejay.
We would like to see Cresta di Gallo but are staying on Romblon Island. How would we organise the trip with you?
Thanks

hello guys... I would like to ask from romblon can you just hire a motor banca going to cresta de Gallo island?? how much would it cost and how many hrs of travel going to the island.. What time is the pickup.. thank you
Written December 12, 2017
Sorry for this very late answer. There will be boats who will grab your offer from from Romblon proper but it is not advisable to do due to unpredictable waves. Better to go take the ship (Montenegro or Navio) and go straight to Sibuyan Island. Then take the jeep going to San Fernando, then you can take the boat. It will take almost an hour to reach the islet.

What time does the boat pick you up in the morning after staying on the island?
Written December 8, 2017
Around 9am, otherwise if later than that waves can be rough

Hi!
We are planning to go Cresta de Gallo next year, What is the best cruise and to what port are we going to drop off? And from port how can we get to Cresta de Gallo?
Appreciate your response

There are alot of options to travel to Sibuyan Island nowadays. It really depends on your schedule and budget. But the normal routes: Batangas Port - Romblon port - Sibuyan (Magdiwang port) or Batangas Port - Tablas (Odiongan Port) - Tablas (San Agustin port) - Sibuyan (Magdiwang port).
