This is really interesting place but it’s a bit hidden. Not only is this a book store, but it’s an old book store that has preserved its authenticity. As a bonus you can view an apartment of the owner of the book store, it takes you 60-70 years in the past. Very interesting and a must see. …

I loved my visit to the old bookstore in Flateyri! It was a really nice surprise as I had not heard anyone discuss it even though I work at a travel agency in Iceland and have been for the last 6 years. Well worth a visit! …

What a gem of a place! Great for book lovers and lovers of history. The old apartment had been frozen in time and it is charming. The book store is bursting with books and other interesting goods. Look out for the ledgers showing the accounts of the store over the years, amazing! The current owner is charming too. We bought one of his books which is full of his photographs taken in and around the area - beautiful and a wonderful souvenir of our trip there. Be sure to visit if you are in the area.…
