The canyoneering is what makes a trip to Kawasan Falls really worth it. KC was a great company to do the canyoneering with – the guides always made sure that we were safe and well as looking after all of our cameras and taking pictures of us. The canyoneering was really fun, lots of jumps and slides, plus there’s always an easier alternative if you don’t want to do some of the big jumps. Given the Moalboal heat it was nice to be in the cool shade/waters.
There is an option to do a zipline for 500 pesos to the start but it isn’t necessary the alternative walk for free is enjoyable and mostly flat, and it only takes 15 minutes compared with all the waiting for a 2 minute zipline. We were able to pick between the two without pressure to choose the zipline.
DEFINITELY wear sea shoes or even proper trainers, there’s a lot of walking over sharp and slippery rocks so you 100% need sturdy footwear – you can buy these or rent from KC if you don’t already have some.
Also included in the price was our pickup/drop off from out accommodation in Moalboal, a helmet and lifejacket with a zip pocket in which we could carry a free bottle of water, and a yummy lunch. The only downside was the amount of waiting we had to do. We were picked up at 8.30 but didn’t really get going until 10.30am. FYI you can leave belongings at the KC offices, you only really need to take a camera really and a bit of money if you want to buy snacks/do zipline.
The Osmena peak side of our trip wasn’t as well organised. KC were aware that we were doing it but forgot to arrange the transport, and they didn’t realise until we inquired after lunch when we would be going. This meant that we had to wait an hour for our driver to arrive – on a positive note we did get to see the peak at sunset, but it also means that we didn’t get back to Moalboal until quite late at 19.30. I’ve reviewed Osmena peak separately but it is worth knowing that there is a 90-minute motorbike ride there and back so it makes the day much longer and will be tiring on top of the canyoneering – so only do both if you are relatively fit and able. Also there was confusion about payment, we were under the impression that the entry fee for the hike was included but we ended up paying this, our driver then handed us over to the guide so we assumed this was also included in the price we had paid for the trip but then they asked for 150 pesos at the end. These are small amounts of money so not worth crying over but we were understanding from KC that all prices were included.
Arranging our canyoneering trip was very easy – KC replied to all my emails promptly and I paid a deposit of 1080 pesos easily enough by Paypal. Overall for the Canyoneering plus Osmena trip we paid 2500 pesos pp, for canyoneering alone I think it is 1500pp.
All in all, I would recommend KC as a company to do canyoneering with.

We absolutely loved doing Canyoneering at Kawasan Falls and it was the highlight of our Philippines trip.
It is very important that you go with a trusted guide and I would highly recommend contacting Mike Vincent Africano on facebook or +63 936 385 9321. There are lots of new guides trying to make a quick buck so be careful who you go with.
He was in contact on whatsapp beforehand. He picked us up in Cebu and provided us with life jackets, shoes and a helmet.
We had Wilson as our guide and he knew the area very well and we felt completely safe throughout. He even pointed out the one cliff where people were jumping that he said was not safe and he wouldn't be taking us there.
It took us about 4-5 hours and then we had lunch at Kawasan Falls. It was lots of fun and I would highly recommend doing this if you flying into Cebu!

Incredible canyoneering experience with Jeymar! He knew all the right spots for photos and was super excited and happy to guide us.
Lots of damage from typhoon Odette, the dining area at kawasan was completely wrecked. The only way to see the largest kawasan waterfall is to go canyoneering as it’s closed to the public. We started at 9am and finished at 12 :) depending on your group size and fitness level, it will take longer or shorter. Also there is an awesome zipline which we highly recommend for an additional 500 pesos, otherwise you have to hike to the start of the canyoneering.
We loved it so much! Please visit Badian and please request Jeymar! You won’t regret it.

This is with regards to a concern we have to trying to find a solution to from 12th Dec'22 onward regarding refund of an additional amount we have paid for the Canyoneering activity
Team Kawasan cheated us of $100 that we paid them additionally which they had promised to return to us via net transfer. However it has been almost 7 months now and there is no update from their end clearly indicating the lack of professionalism.
As per details available with Ms Claire from the company and shared on WhatsApp - we paid an additional USD 100 ~ 5400 PHP to the account of the company via wire transfer as an advance . This transfer was made for the canyoneering activity before the activity date. However due to delays in the same reflecting in the bank account of Kawasan canyoneering - based on their verbal confirmation that the additional money would be returned we paid the full amount for the activity in cash at the office in Badian as it was a requirement from their end.
It has now been over 7 months and we have been following up for a refund of the mentioned amount however to no avail. I have stopped receiving responses to my WhatsApp texts as well ,which leave us feeling duped.
Stay away. Or make sure you don't go through this. Don't make any advance payments specially online .

Two things...
1-you have to go to this canyon. It's amazing. There are some pretty difficult parts, so if you are older or have any mobility issues, I would NOT recommend this. Otherwise, it's a lot of fun. The zip line down is definitely worth the money. Climbing through the water and over the rocks is fun. The canyon itself is green and pretty. There are a series of jumps off cliffs into the water below that will make you pucker. Fortunately, they start small and easy and build in height as the walk goes on. I believe you also have the option of walking around them if you wish. The last jump is about 40 feet. Yeah, it's high up. But lots of fun!
2-this tour group was great. Picked us up at our place; had a safety talk; led us through the canyon and fed us. Everything and everyone was lovely. VERY nice and fun people. I would definitely go with them again!

Arranged this tour via WhatsApp. Response time was fast.
Collection from our hotel 1.5 hours away and drop off after.
Our guide for our group of 4 was incredible. Thank you so much.
There is a 45 minute walk to the start unless you take a zip line (which we did for an extra 500 pesos per person) then a 10 minute decline walk.
The walking is uneven so I highly recommend taking aqua shoes to grip the rocks.
The whole thing lasted nearly 4 hours followed by food afterwards.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend this company. Don’t bother looking anywhere else. The whole process was easy to arrange. And we did not need to do a thing.

I'd like to thank Arni our most polite and smiley pick up and drop off driver from Cebu and Felix our Kawasan guide, who made our canyoneering experience an awesome one. He made us feel safe, walked at our pace and took countless photos of us. The jumps are all optional so I encourage anyone who is scared to go for it like I did because the trail to get to Kawasan Falls is beautiful. Never seen anything like it and felt like I was in a movie. Make sure to take water shoes. I was not prepared and walked all the way in my bikini + life jacket + water shoes so I also suggest a shorts for women (to be comfortable whilst moving around). There are vendors who set up with fruit, food and water along the trail, so take money with you. Highly recommend Kawasan Canyoneering.

Was a great experience! Our guide was very fun! They take excellent photos and provide dry bags for your phones.
There are stops along the way that require you to pay if you wanted water etc. so drink plenty before or bring cash.
You do get lunch provided but that is after the activity- you get pretty hot and sweaty along the way!
Beware that if you choose the zip line the cost is not provided in the initial booking - it’s is an extra 600php which they only told us when we got there.
Thanks so much for the experience team!

The canyoning itself was great but be aware, to do the zip line is 600 PHP and you are pressured into doing it otherwise you have to walk 40 mins to the start of the canyon and wait for the rest of your group. Otherwise an incredible trip the guides are great also and take lots of photos. Overall an awesome trip just be sure to take extra cash

My wife and I signed up for the 3 hour tour that included multiple waterfalls, 2 rope swings and even a 30 foot concrete jumping platform. Yikes! We paid 1,200 Php per person and it included lunch. Our guide Micho was super friendly and helpful. Typhoon Odette wiped out several bridges so there are lots of treacherous river crossing points. He definitely helped to keep us safe. Micho was also an excellent photographer. Still can’t believe that we jumped off that platform. Scary but super glad that we did it. Highly recommended!

In the canyoneering tour, I know some jump is optional, but are there any jump compulsory? Because I saw on some other local tour website, they said there's a required 4 meter jump.
Written January 13, 2020
Hello Jerry, yes high cliff is optional. You planning to visit us?

Hi,
Thanks a lot for this informative review.
Could you help me with the hotel that you were staying, where the pickup/drop for the Canyoneering was arranged? I am planning a trip that includes this adventure, and your answer will be of great help!
Thanks,
Dipankar

I stayed in Cebu City at a downtown hotel and then took a taxi to the south terminal bus station and got a bus to Kawasan Falls which was over 3 hours. Next time I would stay in the vicinity of Kawasan Falls so that one can get up early to go Canyoneering as it gets busy by lunchtime there. Have a good trip

Hi, we will be in Cebu on 25th December 2019. Will you be running your tours on that date.

Hello!I really want to have the canyoneering experience since i believe i would regret it if i didn't. My only concern is that i am really afraid of heights, even watching some canyoneering videos made my palms sweat. So is it possible to do the tour but if one of any of the jumps is to scary to me can i skip it? I know the tallest jump is optional but are the rest 100% required? I know the easier route would be just not doing it but i don't want to miss the experience.
Written July 26, 2019
Hello, in our tour we could skip any of them. But maybe there are several different routes with other options
Written July 27, 2019
Yes, pls communicate us thru our email. Or mobile # thanks

Besides Cebu City, do you provide transport to Kawasan from other locations on the island of Cebu (Moalbal, Badian, Alegria, Oslob? If so, are the rates the same?
Written March 1, 2019
Hello yes we also offer van trasnfers but for the other activities like whaleshark, Sumilon, Alegria is the same rate :)
Written April 18, 2022
Is there any rappelling or ropework on this tour? Or is it essentially just walking up a path from the main falls to the top and gradually making your way down, making jumps along the way? How does it work?
Written February 28, 2019
Hello, in this course we dont have rappelling or ropework, its just merely walking, jumping and swiming
