One of Hawaii Island's most beautiful black sand beaches! The first thing you need to know is that there are no facilities of any kind at this beach. Be sure to take plenty of drinking water and anything else you think you might need. Visitors...More

This is a beautiful black sand beach bay from a boat but a walk through private properties along the coast. Not recommended for visitors. Ho’okena is a much better option

We 1st visited this beach because of its closeness to Ocean View where we were staying for 4 weeks, and fell in love with it -- making 5 visits. It is an idyllic setting: about 150 yards wide, framed in lava flow on both sides,...More

The beach is beautiful, usually sparsely populated. The drive down to Milolii is a bit nervy. One-ish lane road with a lot of turns. The walk in is interesting, path is flanked by keep out signs. There is a part close to the beach with...More

A beautiful quiet and often very private beach. Do not be discouraged with the drive through the Milolii Village. People are helpful and tourist friendly.

Beautiful beach visit. Almost no one was there. Short hike through a very interesting forest. Worth the drive.

Be prepared to see a real fishing village in Milolii, with some sort of tatty homes. The people here are super friendly though, if you are nice. The short hike to the beach is spectacular. This is why we love our Big Island Trailblazer guide,...More
