Outstanding especially for disabled people

Absolutely stunning. Every step we took brought a new element and dimension into view. The gardens are beautifully tended to. But creme de la creme was the fact that it was easily accessible to whellchairs. Furtgermore the toilets were not only 100% accessible to me but were sanitized after every customer. I've visited many gatdens in the world but these gardens left me eith a feeling of peace and happiness

It deserves a visit!

Nice walk among gardens and ruins of the property. Very beautiful in April/May, although the weather allows to enjoy flowers all year long. Well organized and highly recommended

Delightful gardens
Oct 2019
Delightful romantic style gardens set in a ruined village. Interesting plantings including roses, pomegranates and bamboo, but best of all the setting against the local mountainside.

Visit in early Autumn
Oct 2019 • Friends
Sorry to disagree w the rating of Worlds 2nd most beautiful garden but there is no comparison with the standard of Japanese gardens - the Eden project in UK,
Hestercombe and Highgrove in Uk also some temperate and tropical gardens in Australia. The setting is lovely round the ruins without them it would not rate as there was very little colour in the trees or the one patch of perennials.
Secondly getting there is not simple unless you buy a full tour. We were told
there was a shuttle !! Two to 3 taxis are there charging E15 to 20 each way at the railway station. Some signage at the rail station would be helpful as we were not the only ones with questions.

Exquisite Mix of Landscape Gardening and Medieval Ruins
Oct 2019 • Friends
Yesterday we visited this exquisite, beautifully landscaped garden south of Rome with friends. We had originally signed up for an English language tour but, on a whim, chose to go on the Italian language tour which left a bit earlier. I am so glad we did. Our guide Mara was a perfect interpreter of and ambassador for these spectacular gardens. The combination of the panoramic surroundings, evocative medieval ruins and thoughtful and artistic landscaping will take your breath away. I hope to go again in another season to see how the gardens look then.

Well worth the effort of getting there!

Monty Don’s assessment that these might be “the most romantic gardens in the world” inspired us to visit la Giardino di Ninfa during our recent Italian holiday. Having managed to book our tickets through the all-in-Italian website, we travelled by train from Salerno and then private car from Latina Scalo. The logistics were rather complicated! By the time the English tour started, the skies had clouded over and it was threatening to rain - which it duly did halfway through our tour. Despite all these challenges, the visit was wonderful. The Gardens are beautiful and the way the ancient ruins appear amongst the plantings is absolutely charming. We thoroughly recommended it to garden lovers. We were surprised to find hundreds of people waiting to see the Gardens, so booking-especially for the English tour - is important.

A beautiful romantic garden in a ruined town
May 2019 • Couples
The Giardino di Ninfa is every bit as good as the reports say. It is a beautiful garden, well planted, with a good understanding of ecology. The tour guides are knowledgeable and friendly. They explain the history of the town and region, and of the garden; they also understand the planting and how the plants interact. This is worth a special trip to see!

Excellent gardens.

It is an extensive garden created by Gelasio Caetani in 1920. It is regarded as being one of the best gardens in Europe. It contains plants from all over the world. Also of interest are the ruins of the town of Ninfa which are incorporated into the gardens. The gardens are organic. It is a lovely place to walk around. When we were there hundreds of froglets were jumping around.

Beyond imagination
May 2019 • Friends
Like other reviewers, I was inspired to visit this wondrous garden after watching the Monty Don TV series about the gardens of Italy. I structured a week long holiday around a private visit to Ninfa and feel so privileged to have had the truly magical experience of a gloriously sunny Spring day in this fairytale paradise. Ninfa’s beauty really does make you gasp.
It is notoriously difficult to plan a visit, but do persevere and invest in a private visit if you have the means. It is a memory you will treasure forever.
Our official Ninfa guide was superb. She was originally from South America and remains spellbound by the garden and really conveyed her love of the garden and the many stories lying beneath the ruins that provide such a romantic backdrop for the flowers. I hope to return at another time of year to enjoy the garden all over again.
I would be surprised if I enjoy myself more this year than I did on this perfect day.

Breathtaking garden - do not go with Viator all day tour plus Sermonetta
May 2019 • Couples
The Ninfa Gardens are spectacular and I'm not really a garden person--but this garden is amazing. The setting among the ruins and mountains in the background is exceptional and creates endless opportunities for photos. We were there in May and despite being overcast the beauty of the garden still shined brightly. Hard to convey in words but definitely worth it. Getting to Ninfa is tricky. Its 2 hours from Rome, opening and hours are tricky, and visits to the garden are only available with a Ninfa tour guide. The tour guide from Ninfa was very good but the tour guide we had with Viator was horrible. The addition of a trip to the mountain top town of Sermoneta only works if you have a 12 year old boy who has never seen a castle before. The restaurant options are poor. Overall the tour bus all day option we took felt like a very low quality experience. The tour guide we had was much more interested in her phone than guiding, her English was mediocre, and she didn't take any of our interests into account. We were definitely on her schedule going where and when she wanted to take us. Getting to Ninfa remains a challenge but the tour bus alternative is one I will not choose again.
