I recommend coming here because it’s super relaxing and fun at the same time. The boaters were friendly and the boats itself gave a cool vibe to the trip. You have many options like snorkeling, walking the beach, swimming, and having a picnic too! There’s one island that has a snack stand with fish balls too.

Not only is Digyo an incredibly beautiful island, but the snorkelling is also pretty good too. I saw more clownfish here than anywhere else in the Philippines (south end of the western side).

Previous reviewers mention seeing a lot of trash on the island. That wasn’t our experience. The island was spotless when we visited. And others mentioned issues with the boatmen and with extra hidden charges when they arrived on the island. Again we didn’t experience any of this. The boatmen were super friendly and accommodating and the only extra thing we paid for on the island was a bowl of kinhason - a type of local shellfish which I would definitely recommend if you’re a foodie. If you like mussels you’ll like them.

We travelled from Hindang and were told to stop at Himokilan to pay to get to digyo. We stopped at Himokilan and noticed straight away this island is meant to be beautiful with fine white sands and I saw corals but the inhabitants made this island so dirty, the sewage that runs to the beach was disgusting you wouldn't wanna swim here. Himokilan is a part of Hindang municipality and also a part of the cuatro islas. After we paid more than a thousands pesos for about 16 of us including 4 kids (it was more than 1500 pesos I think) we then proceeded to go to digyo, I told the boatman that I wanted to to go Apid just to have a look but somehow we didn't get to stop there for sure they gave a reason but can't remember. They took us to digyo, I did recall I said we wanted to go to mahaba island on the way back to Hindand mainland.

Cuatro islas means 4 little islands but only digyo and mahaba are for tourists (or travellers, whatever you like to call it). Himokilan and Apid are not for leisure, though you can stop and look around if your boatman is not lazy or fussy.

Digyo island is a filth, it is embarassing that they label it "World Class" - this is according to the Philippine national advertising that can be found in youtube. We saw rubbish everywhere, and even when I walked around the island there was almost tons of rubbish like rags, plastics and other types. The picture of the tourists that has been there are very deceiving as it has only one side that you can swim as other parts of the beach are covered with corals and if you are not careful and you step on it you will likely to get your foot cut - so be very careful. There was a person who were doing walis and was cleaning but only around the cottage, good enough but the whole island needs major work of cleaning. Another notable was that the locals there were dishonest (rip us off), we bought a kinhason 500 pesos a balde (bucket) which was fine, then came another seller, they must have found out that we like to buy), we were told that they will cook the kinhason for us for the cost of 400 (mind you it was a lot less than the earlier one) pesos but we gladly bought as per our agreement and I like to help locals as I saw the standard of living they are in the island. It took them around an hour to get back with the kinhason, the man asked us for another 100 pesos meaning it will now costs us 500 pesos all up. I dont mind paying as long as they are honest about it, we thought they must have smelt that I am from overseas and thought I have plenty of money, I cannot believe that rip off character of locals are also paramount in a small island like digyo. Another thing was the locals are letting their dogs lingering around the cottages, dogs takes any food we dropped and would come back for more, I feel so sorry and thought the locals were not feeding their animals.

We cannot stay after 3pm (or I think 2pm) as the waves are getting bigger and will make it difficult for the boat to run back to the mainland. I've been told that it is normal for the sea to create big waves daily at around 2 to 3pm (this is according to my family which are locals in Hindang). We could stay well after 4 and go back to the mainland at 5 but we were worried because the weather on that day wasn't friendly so we decided to go back early. I did not enjoy digyo and would not go back there again, at least now I know what it's like. I dont rate it at all. Digyo is not world class as they claim to be. I would not recommend it to friends.

A perfect weather, calm seas and fine white sands. All you need to enjoy a stroll in a beach is here in this island namely Digyo.

Part of the Cuatro islas (4 islands), I think this one and Mahaba island has the picturesque view. To go here, you'll need to go Inopacan, Leyte (3-4 hrs away from major airports like Tacloban city and Ormoc city), from there, you'll need to rent a boat for the tour and pay P3500 per boat and an environmental fee of P60 per head. The tour takes 3-4 hrs to go to all 3 islands before Digyo and you'll have a 15-30 min time to enjoy each. In our case, we didn't go to 2 islands (Himonkilan and Apid) because the boatman said that its not that beautiful anymore for people already populated it, so we just stroll to Mahaba island, which on that time no people were there, its also a beautiful island because of the sand and having no establishments around.

It will take 30mins-1hr to get to Digyo from Mahaba Island but you will not get bored because of the view that the sea offers. Upon docking, you can choose a cottage ( forgot the cost), where you can set up your packed food or go to there camping place, if you plan on setting up tents. There are also restrooms in the island as well as a mini store where you can buy Ice.

Pros:
1. View
2. Not crowded (has a virgin feel to it)
3. Fine sand and clear water

Cons:
1. Expensive boat ride (P3500 per boat), so bring as many friends as you can to split the bill.

Bask in the sand, swim in the clear water, stroll the sand bar ,circle the island (15-30mins) and take a lot of pictures because the island is just amazing. I definitely will come back here in the future.

The stunning Cuatro Islas has four lovely islands of which Digyo Island is clearly the best, so I completely agree with TA reviewer casper020687.

The island has the classic white beach and coconut trees, plus small open air nipa-style cottages on which to place one's bags or sit.

The waters were a bright blue on the sunny Sunday when I visited. There is a small sandbar and a sari-sari store for drinks and snacks.

Anyone who criticised this island would be a harsh judge.

Most enjoyable. A banca (departing from the foreshore near Inopacan Municipal Hall) seating 36 or 60 costs P5000 with crew; one seating 16 has a daily tariff of P2500. There is an environmental fee payable for Cuatro Islas of P60 a person.

Digyo is the place island amongst all of the islands in cuatro Islas. So virgin and surrounded by trees. I really love the place. Water was crystal clear. You can even see it on our pictures

One of the four islands in Cuatro Islas tour and I must say that this is my favorite! Love the pristine sand and clear water. There is also a small store in the island where you can buy basic goods (water for php30 and cup noodles for php25) which I think is too cheap. Overall, I enjoyed my stay in Digyo Island!

Digyo island is the island where to stay for an overnight. You will see already the white sandbar even you are afar from the island. The water is so clear. The island is not so crowded. I advised you to visit the island.
