Overview
More
Ripon Cathedral traces its history back to its foundation by St Wilfrid in 672AD. The Anglo-Saxon crypt of St Wilfrid's church remains and is open to visitors. Choral evensong takes place Tuesday to Friday at 6pm and Sundays at 5.30pm. Details of all services may be found on our website. We are open to visitors daily throughout the year and entry is free, though we rely on generous donations to continue this practice. Most of the building is wheelchair accessible with the exception of the Library and the Anglo-Saxon crypt. There is a touch-screen computer interpretation of the crypt at ground level for those unable to access it.

This place is very obviously so much more than a historic building, it is a hub for activities centred around the Community. I adore the tasteful modern additions to the place and the way they juxtapose with ancient stone and timber is a delight. We...More

a must when you visit ripon such great architecture and real kick back to the history of the building the ladies and gentleman that do the tours are a credit to the cathedral and it is kept spotlessly clean

We weren't planning on visiting Ripon Cathedral but we're so happy we did. Firstly there are two reasonably priced car parks only 5 mins walk from it. Secondly it's free admission, but they do rely on donations. The Cathedral itself is simply breathtaking as you...More
