A 3 day barge break was great to see this stunning Yorkshire countryside. Athena canal holidays provided a 50 foot barge and my son and I spent the father's day weekend cruising from Athena's base to Skipton and return. Great experience for all.

A lovely place to cruise and see the countryside. Our cruise was accompanied by a comical commentary.

Along with two friends, my wife and I took a wide-beam boat from Silsden and went west as far as Foulridge. We didn't go through the mile-long tunnel there as it is reputed to be very wet and we would have had to turn and...More

Beautiful countryside walk by following the towpath. You can make the walk as long or short as you wish. We have walked miles as far as Bingley passing through scenic country. As it is obviously flat being a canal it is not too demanding.

During our weeks holiday we walked twice along this canal. We did a circular walk from Garsgrave and came back into Garsgrave along the stunning canal. scenery lovely. We also walked in to Skipton along the canal.

Always worth a visit - with different barges moored alongside - bird life on the water; a walk away from the busy streets and the opurtunity to cross over a swing bridge and go through the park and return to town .
