Interesting items, books, maps and paraphernalia. A well informed person in charge the day we went. Spent a fascinated hour or so. Let our train go by in order to explore some more.

this is about the train station stop-off called petticoat junction. Great place to sit in the warmth with a hot drink and look at the museum pieces laying about

By chance, we managed to catch the steam train leaving the station which was great. Returned later in the day, had a quick walk and look through the museum before grabbing a snack at the little kiosk.

Extremely friendly personnel, made a guided tour for me even though I have arrived before the museum had opened. There are not only steam trains, but also exposure of the WWII and Maori artifacts

We went to rhis during the historical open day weekend when the steam trains were out on display. You can climb up into the drivers seat and get a real picture of how life would have been riding the rails in those days. The trains...More
