I drove from Bangalore via Hosur and Dhenkonkottai. The drive is great and weather is cool. Its very likely to find elephants inside. The hairpin bend between Panchapally dam to Bettamugilalam is mindblowing, narrow and unexpected. So be prepared.

http://www.thehindu.com/news/cities/bangalore/article3656706.ece there have been multiple instances of mugging, molestation and killing in Mandya, within 2 weeks of our getting mugged. It seems to be a pretty dangerous place with a lot of criminal activity. One needs to take care and remain alert
