Very quiet and small village at the north end of the Bahia de Cochinos (Bay of Pigs). Our family visited and stayed at Yaime and Manolitos particular.

Yaime was a wonderful host and Manolito help us organize a scuba excursion all on short notice. We enjoyed our time so much we asked to stay another night and they graciously accommodated us.

Excellent beach patio and a great place for families with children. Plenty of restaurants to choose from or Manolito will take care of you.

We felt like we had a private beach for two days. Scuba diving was a lot of fun with the crew who took us. Dove the reef and a shipwreck.

Highly recommend Playa Larga for a visit.

Such calm water and soft golden sands. No high rise hotels, just small local casa's and a scattering of places selling drinks and food. We ate at Sol Y Caribe beach bar on Caleton beach, good value food and selling a fantastic Cubinata.
The beach has a relaxed vibe and the sunset is beautiful, just take plenty of bug spray as there's lots of little bitey things out to get you.
It's a thin long stretch of beach and we so wished we had spent more than one evening in this area of Cuba. We understand the snorkeling in the area was great and we were sad not to move on. There's lots of nature in the area and plenty of parks we wish we had visited.

We enjoyed the beach by Horizontes, where we got chairs for 1 peso and coconuts. Nice place. The town has many casa and some restaurants.

We stayed at Casa Ana while were here. The hosts Adrian and Ana were amazing. They had the perfect garden set up for bird enthusiasts to watch the Bee Hummingbird. There were lots of restaurants and places to buy goods. The beaches were awesome but the nature was phenomenal.

For people who love to mingle with locals and not expensive.
Playa Larga is small fishermans town with a nice relaxed not overcrowded beach. Restaurant Sol y Caribe has chairs and sunbed which you can use.
A nice stop-over when traveling from Havana to Cienfuegos or Trinidad

If you ever go to Cuba, take a stop here. Cheap drinks, low on turists in Winter season and great tours in the surrounding nature. Lovely Beach.

I agree with NoeB1 that the end of the street at Playa Larga, called Bahia Caleton, is a more attractive and local place to be. We spent two nights at NV and found ourselves in the very informed and competent hands of Alejandro and his mother who run this lovely hostal. Our accommodation was roomy and modern and we had a lovely balcony area just outside. There were other areas both on the roof and on the level of our accommodation also which had views of the ocean and which were pleasant spaces for breakfast and dining. The breakfast and other meals available here are of a very high standard (the fish for dinner had been fresh caught by Alejandro just that day) and we also enjoyed some of the most delicious pina coladas of our visit. Alejandro is also a local dive master and other guests had arranged to enjoy his very special knowledge of the area......we would certainly do so if we return.

We had a lovely stay at Hostal El Paraiso, and exceptional meals at El Caribeño restaurant. The local people were warm and welcoming, and we had a wonderful bird watching trip with Manolito the guide in the Cienega Zapatas Park.

You would really only go there for diving. The “coral caves”especially I enjoyed Cuba has much nicer beaches.
