..... not quite as high from what the guidebooks say. Well worth a trip and some interesting background and history to learn about plus some great views.

I went with a group at night and had a good time. It is similar in design to the Swe Dagon Pagoda in Yangon but modern and a bit less grand. Lots of signs in English to tell you what is what. We were there...More

Pretty much the best (and only) thing to see. Around 20 mins from hotel area. Free entry but no shoes or socks allowed. Stunning building. Not so great if you've been to Yangon already. Very very quiet. Blazing hot in the day. Better go before...More

If you happen to be in Naypyidaw you are most likely in the capital for some kind of business, a convention or other work-related matters. To get at least a bit of local flavour (as much as that exists in the capital at all) try...More

It is worth the time, effort and money to visit. We hired a driver to go around Naypyidaw and this was included. Just do take in mind the do's and don'ts around the temple, and for foreign ladies, they will charge you 2000 kyats for...More

The pagoda is huge and looks awesome. The place was pretty empty as we were there, just like everything in Naypyidaw. The inside is stunning and you can take some great pictures on the platform outside. Also a nice view from the pagoda as it...More

This pagoda is a small replica of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. It is a peaceful and pleasant place to visit. There is a stable of white (albino) elephants at the foot of the pagoda. The view of sunset over Naypidaw from the pagoda is...More

The place is serene and quiet. Brings a lot of peace when you visit. You can sit and relax in the silence. The place is well made and is spread across a massive area. Be ready for some long walk incase you want to see...More

Very few people when i went, excellent for selfies. Really appreciated the quiet too. Impressive interior. White elephants seemed quite miserable though, one had a chain on its foot and was tugging persistently at it.

Take a taxi. You can probably negotiate an all day taxi rate. I've read $20-25 would be enough for the whole day and then you could go anywhere. I've not seen any bus services in NYT.
