This is a must to see, located in Sherbrook Forest in the Dandenong Ranges. Worth the walk to the bottom to see the ornamental lake (boat house) in Autumn - spectacular and breath taking.

I have visited the gardens on several occasions at different times of the year. It is not a big garden but there is always different displays around the garden. The best time is autumn when the Acer trees are out, but it is so nice...More

Beautiful! We'll worth the walk to the bottom lake. The flora and fauna are clearly well looked after. I hope the Mansion breaths new life one day

I love this place, visiting the garden on a Friday afternoon which was very quiet and the colors of the trees turn into autumn. Natures are best, and only a short drive from a busy city of Melbourne.

Definitely worth visiting and bring your camera. Entry is free and car parking is across the road. The gardens are beautiful and the walk to the lake is worth the effort (steep). We visited on a cool, clear morning, just before the smoke haze from...More

Just Beautiful, lovely walk down to the lake, plenty of places to stop on the way for a rest or photo.

This was a pretty park to walk through, but be aware that the walk down to the lake is pretty steep and can require a bit of effort! Surrounds are nice but had a lot of work going on the day we visited.

Only 45 minutes from Melbourne these gardens are a wonderful way to unwind and spend some time in traditional Australian bush. Take a packed lunch and your walking shoes. Parking is available across the road from the Gardens entry. I can't wait to go back...More

As others have said, there isn't a cafe on site but don't limit yourself to the Piggery. There are other great places to eat in Sassafras and Olinda that offer everything from breakfast to dinner.
