Such a beautiful hike in Big Bear. Trail was rather crowded as this is a busy time of year in Big Bear. I would definitely say this is more than an easy to light hike. Has a fairly severe elevation change and uphill climb in...More

Nice with some effort, good for your legs, you'll be fine and hitting the top. Beautiful views and lots of animals around you, great to be in contact with Nature!!!

The trail is steep for the first-timer but short enough that anyone can make it to the top where you can see expansive views of the lake and surrounding forests. The rocks are have bouldering options available for all abilities including several bolted routes.

This is a challenging climb, especially if one wants to get to the top of Castle Rock. The trail is not marked very well.

Parking is in small turnout or on side of road. Starts out with steep climb then levels out a bit. Beautiful views from the top.

Two mile in/out hike to Castle Rock. Beautiful views. First 1/2 mile will get your heart pumping. Kid friendly, but probably not for the little guys.

Yep, but bring leashes, water, and some food for them. It’s a rough trail at parts so always be prepared to haul them back to the car if need be.
