We visited on December 28. We reserved online in December 27 and got our confirmation on the same day. We planned on having an early start but since we were with 2 kids ages 7 & 9 y/o, we arrived quite late and started our trek at 9am.

Because it was the kids' first climb, we did not even reach the first peak. It was fine because our goal was just to get the kid to try trekking and have fun doing it. I think we achieved that goal, with lots of long stops along the way.

For a climber like me, the trek was easy all throughout. A 2 or 3-hour trek to the summit might have been doable. It was one of the coolest and most relaxing climb for me, with really amazing view.

I'd love to come back without kids next time and be at the summit in time for the sunrise.

What to wear (particularly when visiting with kids):
Comfy shoes with socks (preferably with a good traction)
Tights
Shirt (we use dri fit)
Jacket
Bonnet and gloves

What to bring (particularly when visiting with kids):
Walking stick (can be bought at the registration area)
Trail food/snacks
Water
Lunch (sandwiches or whatever you prefer)
Rain gear (depending on the weather)
Cover/malong (in case you need pee along the way)

Rates (Dec 2022):
Guide for 7 pax and below Php600
Parking Php100
Adult fee Php200/adult
Kid fee (7&9yo) Php20/kid
Wooden walking stick Php100

Take nothing but pictures...Leave nothing but footprints...Kill nothing but time.

Whether you are looking for bonding with family or just plain nature trip, this is a wonderful trail to experience and explore both. Super worth every penny to complete the trail. Trail is rated 3/10 but I will say it is 4 or 5 for beginners like us. Some tips on mountain climbing techniques are a must, like keep a pace that suits your body, don’t drink too much water at once, just enough to keep your throat wet, breathe through nose and not mouth come in handy when you are doing any climbing activity. Most important start early as sun can take a toll even if temp is 12 to 15 deg. We arrived at 9 and finished by 1:30pm, of course with numerous stops to catch a breath or sooth our aching muscles.

Hi! I just want to recommend Mt. Ulap or Cloud Mountain. Mt. Ulap is newly opened hiking heaven which showcases the best of what cordilleras has to offer; Pine and grassland ridges with stunning views of the mountains. where it is located in Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet. It is easy enough to be completed from 4-6 hours, making it feasible as a day hike or even a half-day hike for hikers of all levels. You need more than just strength and stamina to climb up and go down, you need patience. We were also lucky to have the weather cooperate with us during our hike. Mt ulap is not just popular among locals. Word of its beauty has also spread to other parts of the world. I didn't think i would find such landscape in the philippines. From the thick green grass and pine trees to the carved out ridges on the trail, so many things were picture perfect and of course instagram worthy.

If you are in Baguio and have 2 days of free time, i highly suggest to climb mt ulap. One of the most scenic climbs ive ever done. Do it on a weekday so less people.

A must do activity if you are in baguio, a short 20min drive from city center will take you to the local govt (bgy) hall then a guide is assigned, and after you pay 1050 pesos, you are on your way, the trail starts at a different location, amd ends at another location, some 2000 feet lower. You need to pay 300 pesos to a local taxi to get you back up to the parking lot at the Bgy hall. Or wait a lot longer for a local bus or jeepney to pass by, we took the taxi.

Whether you r looking for bonding with family or just plain nature trip, this is a wonderful trail to experience and explore both, some picturesque moments, some tired faces, all worth every penny to complete the trail. What i recommend is get sturdy shoes, lots of water, at least a liter per person and comfortable clothing, carry a back pack with some boiled eggs and banana. Trail is rated 3/10 but i will say it is 4 or 5 for beginners like us. Some tips on mountain climbing techniques are a must, like keep a pace that suits your body, dont drink too much water at once, just enough to keep your throat wet, breathe through nose and not mouth come in handy when you are doing any climbing activity.

Next trip is already on the cards as we as a family want to continue exploring such bonding activities

Everywhere you look is such a beautiful view. I went on day hike from 5am to 12nn but I think its better if I stayed overnight because I really wanted to take beautiful photos of the very clear sky with the stars that seem closer. Nevertheless, still enjoyed the trip.

The photos describe it better than words. Will go back again to camp. The four of us plus the guide were the only ones on the mountain the whole time on a Monday.

A nice relaxed hike thru beautiful nature. They force you to get a guide for 300pesos though.
For someone who has hikes in the mountains before that would definitely not be necessary and is seriously annoying. You can avoid it though ;)

If you have hiked before and are in good shape you can do the hike itself in two hours. Plan some time for the way back though sibce there is not that many jeeps coming by.

The hike is pretty chill and laid back. Regarding the trail, it is already established. Although I hiked the mountain in late July, I strongly suggest to hike Mt. Ulap during January - April. The mountain is very cloudy during the rainy season and the view from Gungal rock is foggy/misty. Would recommend to climb Mt. Ulap though but if you plan to, do it during the summer so you could see the views!
