I visited Finca Sura beginning of August and had a nice experience despite the terrible weather with heavy rainfall and torment. The finca is set up for nice walks, during the tour you learn a lot about the life there, the plants and animals. The dinner was very good with Tilapia from the finca pond. Don Rodolfo and his family are very nice and welcoming people. Sleeping in the small huts was an interesting outdoor experience.…

We were checking out this site for a field trip to bring students. The road in is quite rough, but the farm is amazing. Rodolfo is an amazing man, though he doesn’t speak English, I really enjoyed having him show us around. So many wonderful tropical crops, cassava, pineapples, coffee, vanilla, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, sugar cane, and on and on, as well as tilapia ponds and Matilde 🐷…

I expected Finca Sura to be authentic, to discover the farm's culture, animals and have a lot of interesting explanation from Rodolfo and his family on their Finca... and I did ! What I did not expect is to discover such beautiful gardens, ponds, and highly comfortable rooms.

We booked after reading positive reviews on TripAdvisor, however it was at very late notice and we were not sure what to expect. After arrival, we soon realised it was going to be a special experience. The family are genuine, generous and knowledgeable hosts, and their deep knowledge of the land clearly came through. It was a peaceful place and we came swaying just better informed, but also feeling tranquil. Walking around is mainly flat, but definitely have closed toe shoes and long clothing and/or repellent. One point not associated with the farm but with the tour company would be to double check what is included - communication wasn't great and it turned out transport was part of our charge, but a bit confusing, and also hadn't been aware of lunch options / arrangements therefore missed out on that one.
