This was a lovely stop on my day in Nyon. The museum is built around the ruined walls of a Roman forum, so it was amazing to see those walls inside the museum. It's not a terribly large place, but all the exhibits and panels...More

A rare small gem like you seldom happen to see. It is mostly about the Roman founding of the town and about water and how Romans managed it with ducts and siphons. There are models you can play with and also rare pipes and junctions...More

A fantastic little museum with some incredible artefacts - a huge range of aspects of Roman life are covered, from beauty to architecture and building. The statue of Caesar behind the museum is also a great photo opportunity. Staff are very friendly and helpful and...More

Small, well kept, a perfect rainy day museum close to home. I took my son, who is 7, to an Easter activity today and he loved it. The theme was children during the Romans. I suggest you go and see if you ever visit Nyon...More

This is how museums were supposed to be! Very beautiful exhibition; location, style, lighting, presentation - all very well done. It us quite astounding to realise that the exhibit is put together in the midst of the ruined of an old basilicum... There are panes...More

Nyon was a Roman town formed by Caesar in around 50 BC. Almost every building site in the old town uncovers Roman artifacts which are then stored in the Musee Romain. Although the museum is underground (because it is at the level of the original...More
