A leisurely 15-20min walk from the town centre up the hill to the castle. It looks impressive from the river but even more so once you're there and can see the thickness of the walls. It's on a massive scale in every sense of the...More

Rheinfelds Castle was a beautiful ruin to visit! The view was amazing and the weather was perfect! The walk was awesome- and the bathrooms were ones we don't see too often! Check them out!

This castle is different from the others because it’s a ruin. You can go everywhere by yourself. You can touch most things. You can climb, wander, and imagine. Thus, it's kid-friendly. I enjoyed this castle for a different kind of experience. It was worth the...More

We visited right at open on a Monday and had it to ourselves for awhile. Fun to explore the ruins. Wished we could have seen the tunnels but we didn’t have time to stay for the tour.

Very interesting castle to visit, join a guided tour for more information. You need to be able to go up and downs stairs and uneven terrain.

Huge castle, built in 1245,the mightiest fortresses in the Middle Rhine region in its time. Although this proud fortress is in ruin mostly today still gives a good idea about its former glory. A must see in the region Admission 5 eur.parking on site 5 eur/hour.

If you have only 1 hour 25 mins then I strongly recommend to take car or taxi to reach up so that you can atleast spend 30-40 mins at the castle. Coming down is easy and faster will take 15 mins so you can chose to walk down... More
