Amazing place. Wonderful drive to get there and a great place for picnic. There is a lovely English garden behind the ruin. Stunning views of the Rhine valley and the surrounding hills. Much bigger than anticipated. Currently the café is under renovation and closed. They...More

A nice pit stop after seeing Hardenburg Castle. It didn't take us long to explore, maybe 20minutes tops. The Abbey was built in 9th and even has the grave of a Queen in it from 1038.

This Monastery is consisted only of ruins. It is beautifully situated in the forest. We reached it through the woods, starting the hike from Hardenburg. It was a nice visit. We then continued the hike into town.

I like to visit these old places and feel the energy of times long gone. This ruin is really worth a visit.

Great location for Fotoshooting or marriage. I did a fotoshooting and the pictures turned out great. A little restaurant is there too. Great view, parking spaces infront of the location.

From here you have a nice view. The access road from Grethen is very narrow and not the best access. Better take the road from Bad Dürkheim. You can park just in fron of the ruin. Much better is it, if you park on the...More

The ruins of Limburg Abbey are accessible either by driving (there is a carpark right in front), or by hiking. I did the latter, and the walk took me about 30-35 mins from Bad Durkheim train station, past a cemetery and residential area and along...More

What a view!! Worth the narrow road/drive. Walls are well preserved-no roof left after 900 years. Walk the grinds or take a scenic hike!! Fun place to visit and a restaurant too.

It takes you about 3,5 km from the market place to reach the superb ruines of Limburg. 150m higher than Bad Dürkheim, but you get superb views along the road. In the courtyard concerts are organized in summertime.

The Klosterruine was definitely worth seeing while we were in the area although I don't know that it would be worth going out of your way for. Like most of the ruins in the area, there was a little restaurant in the courtyard that appeared...More
