My Chinese friend loved it :) Very authentic flair. You can climb the towers and have a look over most villages near by. Also a wonderful place for kids to play knight and princess! They are offering several events a year of the most different...More

We walked up the hill from Auerbach Bensheim through woodland to the castle. A well preserved ruin and great views. The castle is free to visit but beware, a coffee costs €5. Recommend to visit

No public transport to the castle. You walk at least 30 min the hill up. Parking slots available. Great view. No entry. It's for free.

For some reason I like this sort of old castle or ruins rather than the nice fancy beautiful castles. So this is my kind of thing and I truly enjoyed it . Beautiful .

I call this my must-see attraction when I take friends to this area. The visit is free and one can just take time to explore the ruin and take pictures of the stunning views. I have never seen this castle crowded. One of my favorites!

A half an hour south of Burg Frankenstein, this ruin is bigger and has better views of the surrounding valley from two towers. When we went, it was free to the public. Those with limited mobility should not have an issue visiting this ruin.

The castle is very nice. Unfortunately in February the local restaurant is closed so you can't drink and eat there during winter season.

We went on a day they were having various exhibitions about life in the castle in olden times. My favorite was the blacksmith demonstration. Climbing to the top where you can see the entire area wasn't too difficult and it was worth it. Afterwards we...More
