Unfortunately it was very cloudy and we couldn't see the castle from there. The ride is good for one way only. If you buy both rides at once is less expensive than buying the return at the top of the mountain.

The ride up and down - there is a picturesque view of Schloss Neuschwanstein because you are seeing it from above with the sourounding peaks about the castle. You just have the castle standing with the mountain side behind at nearly all other view points,...More

We took the cable car up from Tegelbergbahn and hiked down. I’ve done a lot hiking in my life and this is one of my all time favorites. The cable car cost around 12 euros for a one way ticket. It’s a quick trip up...More

We toured all countries circling the Alps on our grand European tour and I never tire of the wonders of nature. Mount Tegelberg gives you great views of Fussen and Schwangau located in the Alps region of Bavaria Germany.

The cable car is working whole year, BUT in bad weather they will cancel the service, so it is worth checking on their web site a few days before.

You can hike from the cable car station to Neuschwanstein, yes. To see the inside of the castle you have to get tickets in Hohenschwangau before (around 15€), otherwise you just get to see a bit of the courtyard.
