Heulen mit den Wölfen
Oct 2020
The Wildpark is a lovely place to visit for an afternoon. The animals are lively and the park so natural. The highlight though was our extra package which we booked for the evening "Heulen mit den Wölfen" getting the wolves to howl at night. It was amazing to experience the park in the dark at night when all the guests have left. The information we received about the wolves and their habits was great and we were all amazed by the howling! Brilliant. Would highly recommend.

greatest animal parc in Germany
Dec 2018
I have been there a few times and in the winter or summer, it is always a pleasure. Animals are kept relatively respectful and soo much better than zoos. The guided tours are great as well and it is very nice to see how much effort they make to feed wild animals keeping them up to their natural hunting behavior. They also have an amazing playground. Just love it

A very special zoo that is absolutely worth while visiting
Feb 2019 • Couples
This zoo is like no other - for once, no lions, no tigers, no exotic animals as such - but animals from Europe - and presented in a very interesting and exciting way. Have you ever seen Owls in a zoo ? Have you ever been able to enter a dome and see bats flying around your ears ? Don't be worried - it is safe and super interesting - Have you ever seen a Mangaliza pig ? A pig that looks like a pudel ! European wildlife shown in a super clever way - congratulations to the designers of this zoo - we absolutely loved the visit and experience !

Fantastic day out seeing the animals in natural surroundings, a well planned route around park getting good views of all animals. Children and adults enjoyed feeding the animals . Children looked like they were having great fun in the play area.

Fantastic - make sure you follow a feeding tour
Jun 2018 • Couples
My husband and I followed the afternoon feeding tour. It was a memorable and interesting experience, worthy of an 'Excellent' rating, although there were a few challenges. The tour was (obviously) in German and I understood only a little of what was being said, but we were offered an informative pamphlet in English and given clear instructions at the point of admission. Initially we were joined by a large, noisy group of school children, then there was a massive downpour with thunder, lightning and hail about halfway around. I'd still do it all, again. The animal enclosures were cleverly designed with natural barriers and discrete electric fences. Seeing bears, deer, wolves, boar, birds of prey and beavers only metres away and without cage bars or large fences separating us, was fantastic. Some good opportunities for photography (when it wasn't pouring with rain!) Loved the entertaining show, demonstrating farm animals at work.

Very nice zoo. Lots of walking.
Jul 2018 • Friends
Visited this zoo while I was in town. It has a lot of property and the exhibits are spread out a bit, so there is a lot of walking. The walkways are gravel, but can be managed by a stroller. The exhibits are nice and appear to be well kept. They are also pretty large, giving the animals a lot of space to roam. There is a restaurant on site, but I did not try it out, so I cannot comment on the food. They accept credit cards for admission as well as cash.

The park is very beautiful! And the explanation is very informative! The most amazing part is at feeding the animals! For sure I am going to visit this park again!

Geared up to entertain the kids
Oct 2017 • Friends
4km circuit on gravelled paths through the woods to see bear, beaver, otter, lynx, wolf, elk etc in a “natural” environment. Walk-in aviaries with owls, vultures and ibis. Plus a petting section with a menagerie of domesticated animals. Tree house complex, swings and slides for kids amusement. Crowds and excitable children tend to follow the keepers on their feeding time round but then is probably only when you’ll get to see the shy species. Food kiosk midway round but meagre fare so bring your own sandwiches. Likely to be packed out in summer holidays and at weekends so avoid those periods if you want a quieter visit.

Great wildlife park
Aug 2017 • Couples
One of the things I really liked about this wildlife park, the animals have great areas where they are still able to act like how they are suppose to. The enclosures are sometimes a little small but others seem to be large enough for the animals to be able to hide and not be on view the whole time, great for the animals but maybe not if you want to see all the animals. For that I would suggest following the feeding tours. The wolfs and lynx like to use the vegetation to hide so when you walk past the enclosure, well, we didn't see them, not until they are offered the food, then they come out and a perfect time to see them. They have a large pack of wolfs and seeing them was the highlight of my day. I would recommend you arrive early enough for the first tour, I believe it starts at around 9.30 ish. This is not your average zoo, it is set in a wooded area and focusses mainly on animals which would have been native to the area in days gone. So no elephants or tigers, but plenty of mountain goats, owls, and even some bears. Besides those they are lots of goats and deer as well as some farm animals, which you are able to feed with animal feed available at the entrance. A restaurant and a children's play area is also there. I really enjoyed this wildlife park, I had a fabulous day.

Visiting with the Animals
May 2017 • Couples
We arrived early, before the crowds and walked through the park when the animals and birds were still very active. The trails are good and the park is designed to provide optimum viewing of the animals and birds. We had a burger for lunch and it was pretty good and reasonable prices. Overall a nice time.
