The park has an excellent group of picnic tables on the upper level under cool shade trees. The walk along the beach is short and easy with lots to see. The old Brooks homestead is an interesting landmark next to the camp ground. The walk...More

We visited the park and were the only ones there! Admittedly it was the middle of winter and a storm was coming! This is a beautiful spot; lovely white sand beaches and farm land to wander over. There are a couple of trails you can...More

You can enjoy this park in many ways, walking, swimming, birdwatching, camping and so on. We only a couple of hours there but it is a place that you can stay for a few days.

Fascinating clear water beach. This place is unique in it's own way. Birds, fish, trees everything is a bit different than the other regional parks in auckland. This place definitely worth a visit.

The beach is quiet and had lots of Pohutukawa trees on the edges. We were the only ones on the beach on a bright sunny December day. Some impressive huge trees grow near the homestead. Must take a 15 minute walk around the dam lake....More
