An attractive structure with great views over the town. Half of the castle is a museum, the other university departments, so limited scope for visiting inside. The castle gate is a highlight.

Definitely check it out if you are in Tibingen but I wouldn't go out of my way. It was also nice to enjoy a glass of Hefe at an outdoor cafe with a view of it. It was ok, not over the top or anything.

In addition to the great views, you can visit a free little museum were DNA was discovered. I didn't realize the substance of DNA was discovered here.

A lovely wander to the castle and well rewarded with brilliant views and a nice wander round in the sun. so glad we made time to visit although we could have planned better and taken food and spent more time there. Really pretty.

To see this place was a bonus as without our German friends we would of never known it was there Treading the cobbles where others have for centuries was worth every step

While wandering around Tubingen we set out to visit this castle but it wasn't easy to find .....we couldn't find a TI so we finally resorted to buying a town book with a map. Once up at the castle, we strolled around the castle courtyard...More

Very nice views from here of the town and surrounding area. Good healthy walk uphill to get there. Part of the University.

It was a long walk, although that's probably our fault, to get to the castle. From the outside, it looked large and interesting. Once you enter the courtyard you realise it's a university building and the rooms are closed. The only worthwhile bit is the...More

I'd say around 1 hour ... although you could potentially stay for a few hours if you wanted to relax up there with a picnic and enjoy the views. Plenty of lovely gardens to sit in.
