In addition to the great views, you can visit a free little museum were DNA was discovered. I didn't realize the substance of DNA was discovered here.

A lovely wander to the castle and well rewarded with brilliant views and a nice wander round in the sun. so glad we made time to visit although we could have planned better and taken food and spent more time there. Really pretty.

To see this place was a bonus as without our German friends we would of never known it was there Treading the cobbles where others have for centuries was worth every step

The hike up there is very easy, from the main square there are signs guiding you on where to go, which is very useful. However, I did not find the views from the Castle so marvellous. The problem is that the fortifications are quite high...More

While wandering around Tubingen we set out to visit this castle but it wasn't easy to find .....we couldn't find a TI so we finally resorted to buying a town book with a map. Once up at the castle, we strolled around the castle courtyard...More

Very nice views from here of the town and surrounding area. Good healthy walk uphill to get there. Part of the University.

It was a long walk, although that's probably our fault, to get to the castle. From the outside, it looked large and interesting. Once you enter the courtyard you realise it's a university building and the rooms are closed. The only worthwhile bit is the...More

The Tübingen castle for some reason always made me feel like going to Hogwarts. The museum is great and from the castle you can enjoy wonderful views on Tübingen rooftops. Also pass the main gate and take another stairs to reach European Anthropology insitute. Behind...More

This Castle is on a hill affording lovely views of the city and the Neckar below. There are various exhibits open to the public within the Castle, including one on the discovery of DNA. The Castle itself is beautiful, and the hike up scenic.

The castle itself is above average. It's location is great. Parts of the castle are used by the university now. Students hang out in the courtyard, in the garden, and various other places. Lovely views of the town, river and surrounding area. Very relaxing with...More

I'd say around 1 hour ... although you could potentially stay for a few hours if you wanted to relax up there with a picnic and enjoy the views. Plenty of lovely gardens to sit in.
