Fascinating history here, with parts dating back possible to the year 630. Also the place where poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff (was on the 20 Mark bill) lived for last two years of her life. It's a good little hike from the dock, but worth the...More

This privately owned is castle is wonderful to visit. The day we were there, two tours were offered. One to visit the tower, the other to visit the kitchen and related rooms. The tower visit was available first. It involves a lot of stair climbing...More

This was the real thing used until the 1800s. It is very interesting to wonder thru and make sure you get the written English guide. If at all possible try to join the tour group which will go where the self guided tour does not,...More

My friends from the USA were thrilled to explore rooms from the 8th century, see the dungeon, the old weapons, etc.

Actually, we first considered Lundau as a classy sightseeing point, but for our fortune made a stop in Meersburg, which has both the old and the new castle. The old castle is located very close to the Bodensee bank, so the views are breathtaking. Meersburg...More

If you like the old Konstanzer history, ancient prison holes, and soldiers and weapons from the middel-age, so is this the place to go. This is also the home of the well-known German author Annette von Droste-Hûlshoff. You should look after a guided tour around...More
