The burg makes you feel as if you were back in Middle Age period, with all the old walls and small village! The view from the castle terrace is magnificent and you can see beautiful spots from there.

Claims to be the longest castle in Europe & I tend to believe them. But most of it is like walking through a walled village, rather than a castle. Most of it is free to roam except the buildings at the end which require tickets...More

Nice to visit the whole small city of Burghausen. Carrying so much history behind it. The burg again represents lots of history and its importance in the former time

An absolute must if ever you are visiting this Bavarian region... consisting of 3 distinct fortifications... the view is awesome. Situated on the Austrian border, you can easily reach Salzburg within 30 minutes by car...

This is a fabulous castle, running along a ridge above the town. it can be reached by a couple of different paths, both rather steep. Once you're up top, you can wander through a quiet stretch with some great views, toward to main bastion at...More

I thought this would be admission to another castle but It wasn't! You park your car then you walk quite a ways To get to the castle part...hence the advertised "longest Castle in the world". You have to walk through many Courtyards to finally get...More
