Quedlinburg history goes back thousands of years, but it is best known as one of the best preserved medieval cities in Germany. It feels like you are amidst one of Grimm brother tales. Take at least a day for your visit and do some research...More

The old town of Quedlinburg offers a very well mainteined collection of traditional houses that host restaurants and cafes mainly. Although it is not a very sizable area, a visit is definitely recommended.

We drove in to Quedlinberg at about 5pm for a late afternoon visit after the tour buses had left and virtually had the town to ourselves. We parked in a carpark at the foot of the castle, which had plenty of spaces because most tourists...More

Beautiful (and original!) old town with quaint German half timbered houses and bits of history in surprising books and crannies. Fantastic to stroll about in, having a coffee or just touring

Breathtaking! Never seen a perfect old town like this! Go there off season like we did because this place is probably crowded during summer.

Quedlinburg reminds me of a quieter version of Bavaria's Rothenburg ob Der Tauber. Quedlinburg has it's tourists, but unlike Rothenburg tourist do not overrun it the busload. Walking through Quedlinburg you have the opportunity to take in your surroundings and enjoy the hundreds of half-timbered...More

I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent here, every small winding street has something nice to look at. This town is only suitable for people who are able to walk on uneven ground as the streets are cobbled and uneven at most times.

If you stay in Quedlinburg and only have a weekend to spare I would recommend a day trip to Goslar. The old town Goslar and the Rammelsberg's mine and mine museum are listed on Germany's UNESCO world heritage sites. The old... More
