We have visited a number of historical villages around Australia and this was one of the best. Fantastic collections that were well organised. Clearly a dedicated crew of volunteers running it. Though as a 40yo, I didn’t appreciated seeing books I read in primary school...More

It may not look much from the outside but inside there is a lot of history. It was very interesting,to see how people lived and survived without what we take for granted.

I didn’t expect this place to be anything special but we spent a couple of hours here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Each building is set up as it would have looked in days gone by so you can imagine what it would have been like...More

Fascinating look back into history of Hervey Bay. Buildings have been reconstructed so you can visualise exactly what life was like. Displays of dresses worn by actual town inhabitants at their weddings etc. old cameras, history of how technology has evolved with old radiograms on...More

An excellent village museum set an well maintained grounds, you can't help but wander throughout the exhibits and the various displays and take in the history. A very good Maheno display and I was particularly taken with the schoolhouse and fire engine. Plenty of room...More

This is one of the best Pioneer Museums we've seen. Well worth the entry price. Nineteen buildings on 3 acres, with lots of detail in the collections of historical artifacts.

A lovely, realistic village of days gone by. Only negative would be that we did not allow ourselves enough time to do the displays justice. You need 2 hours minimum.

Dogs must be tied up at the Reception area. Unfortunately, due to past experiences, we cannot allow dogs into the Village.
