I never knew that Calais had such a fantastic beach.
When we visited there were little cabin / market stall and eateries along the promenade.
Plenty of showers / taps for washing off sand etc. Clean wc facilities.
Beach has life guard patrols.
It's pretty cool to come here because this are is where the Germans thought the allies would invade. Little did they know it would happen 200 miles to the south in Normandy. There were a number a bunkers setup in this area and we visited...More
This long beach has clean golden sands. The sand shelves slowly, making it safe for children. This is the Channel, so water is never going to be particularly warm. There are lots of beach huts but they seem to be privately owned.
Calais beach is spacious,sandy and very scenic.
You have a selection of beach huts as well.
Would be ideal for sunbathing.
Wasn’t quite sunbathing weather,but a pleasure to stroll around the beach and admire the fine views.A good stop off point for ice cream.🍦 😀
