We came off the cruise ship Discovery on a Sunday the 14th of May. It was a gloomy day threatening rain and if I hadn’t found reviews for this great museum we wouldn’t have come off the ship! Because we came from Discovery there was...More

A suprisingly good museum - better than i thought it would be. The idea is to take you through the various era of ships and see what life was like on board. It does it well and each section has a suprise in it that...More

Having read other reviews here we visited this amazing museum one afternoon. I can highly recommend it. I suffer from claustrophobia and this museum is inside with no outside winidows. The staff could not have been more helpful: I was walked around the whole site...More

I find French museums very innovative. This one is. Full marks to the creators. You will not fail to be impressed by it. Even if you have no interest whatsoever in liners.... I will not detail here all of the things to see, do and...More

This well conceived museum is like a tour of a transatlantic liner. One can easily imagine the life on one of these grand ships (though I think we'd prefer to do it 1st class)! Most was in French but enough in English to get a...More

We only visited this attraction because we had been warned about the queue at the submarine museum. We were very pleasantly surprised. The exhibits, layout and feel of the place were all great and told a very interesting story of the history of the town....More

We bought a combined ticket for 3 museums down in the old port area which is being transformed. The Escal'Atlantic was a great way to find out about the heyday of the liners built in the port during the 20th century - with lovely theatrical...More

This is an experience which takes you back to the great ships built in Saint Nazaire - real history brought to life with theatre. The vignettes are so well thought through - the best being the promenade deck complete with wind effects! There's also a...More

This is the best museum of ocean liners that I have seen. It combines good histrical coverage and excellent artifacts with an accessible and engaging approach to display. It makes good use of an otherwise unusable historical monument, the wartime concrete pens for Submarines (basically,...More
