After the Grand rue, next step is to climb the stairs heading for the abbey entrance. It is exciting to approach the top, but particularly on the way down again, handrails would be very useful. The same is the case for the stairs to the...More

If you will reach the top, the Abbey you will pass here on this historical sites, the Grand Degre; you feel you in an ancient castle with spectacular renovations; a perfect reflection on the past, 200 years ago; very nice views.

A walk through history and respect for those who worked on it - the willing and the unwilling! This is the challenging climb up to the Abbey - with some amazing views if you look behind you! 1799

As you climb to the top of the site / feature you'll pass the Grand Degre. All very impressive historically. Take your time to take it all in.

A must climb to see the Abbey. We were here in February so it was cold and rainy. But it also meant there were very few other tourists. So no rush to our climb. Myself, Dad (68) and Niece (10) had no trouble.

The Grand Degré is the staircase to the Abbey. There are 350 steps that brings you to one of the most beautiful views. For the physically challenged, there is no elevator. This is a must! Enjoy!
