This is a wide open street with a wonderful Friday flower market which is held all the year. There is a commemorative statue to Paul Riquet in the middle. He was the man who built the Canal du Midi. Most of the buildings at each...More

Staying in a beautiful villa North of Beziers (review to follow), we took a drive into the town to explore. Staring at the main promenade in Central Beziers, the Allees Paul Riquet, we strolled down to the gardens at the Southern end, then passed the...More

Ok, so it's just a long strip of Tarmac. But from the railway station it's a lovely short walk (steep) through beautiful gardens to reach it. On it are street bars (many only open for lunch). Off it are many other restaurants. At the top...More

It seemed to have good reviews and was signposted everywhere in Beziers but it is just a wide street with cars running alongside it. - don't bother

In the middle of Beziers, a small town in the south of France, you can have a nice break in between touring the old historic part of town and a trip over to the Canal de Midi that crosses Beziers outskirts. A wide avenue in...More

A great place for a stroll through town; there was a market and lots of street restaurants when we visited. There are also some water fountains - good for cooling off on a hot day.

This could be thought of as the Beziers main drag, with a large pedestrian area down the centre, through the trees, and wide roads and pavements either side, with shops and restaurants. I've given it three stars to reflect my uncertainty about how it will...More

Beziers historically must have been a very wealthy town for the main avenue through the centre of town is spectacular in size effectively running down the slope of the old town from top to bottom. It is very wide with the main road running either...More

This main alley of trees is a major attraction in Beziers. The trees are beautiful and offer good shade in the summer months. Lined on either side by shops and cafes, it is a lovely spot to visit.

I read a report about some of the ladies of Beziers getting together and knitting wraps for the trees in Allées Paul Riquet! Their ages ranged from 8 to 80. Sorry now I can't remember the reason for doing this. But it's fun and colourful...More
