Brantome itself is a pretty little town, however we found the market to be a bit of a let down. There seemed to be more British people than French and many of the stalls were run by British people. Some nice food stalls but most...More
Great market - lots of fresh produce, bread, fruit etc. And a variety of other stalls, clothing, jewellery, cards etc. Great town to stroll around too with lots of cafes/bars riverside to sit and while away an hour with a coffee or drink

A lovely town with lovely market!! We stopped here on route to Perigueux and spent longer than expected. A great varied market, something for all. Some lovely shops in the town in some quaint little streets and nice coffee shops to have a croissant and...More
Having been here 3 years ago and absolutely fell in love with the place we were excited to return. Unfortunately we have been left completely disappointed. The town no longer has a French market town feel. But is overly commercial, with tourisms being their focus.
What a beautiful little town this is. Especially on market day. The caves were astounding and the shops and restaurants great. We have a 7 year old and an 8 month old still worth the visit ....gorgeous place.
A year on from last visit, now seems a corner of Little England, British weekend festival! cheap property deals, easy flight access to area has diminished this location.prices to match, upwards. .
Joie de vivre essence slowly disappearing.Shame.
