An interesting shop, also selling all kinds of 'alabastro (albaster) items, from small souvenirs, to lamps. Albaster is a rather soft kind of natural stone, often used for carving. A nice place to visit indeed and to look around for a short while. But we could resist the temptation of buying something there, because we didn't need anything.Not a cheap place, BTW.…

We went as part of a group and looked around at hand-carved alabaster objects on the shelves and in the storeroom. There were around 30 of us crammed into the small shop, but then the craftsman began turning a demonstration piece on his lathe. Alabaster dust shot into the already hot atmosphere and nearly choked those standing near the lathe. No good for anyone with hay fever or a respiratory condition. Be warned!…
