There are so many stunning churches in Sicily and this is another one. Most interesting bit was the Nuns singing with the primary schoolkids.

Amazing overall for the Baroque style and has to be on the list. Wish however to provide at entrance more information about the dome itself. It has to be one of the top objectives in Sicily.amazing on the outside and amazinf on the inside.

I did my 10000 steps just getting to this imposing cathedral on a hill in Modica. It is more impressive from the outside than it is inside. The inside is more a placid chapel than a cathedral but worth the walk up the large flight...More

Go mid-day to get the total effect of the amazing cupola with its clear glass. The church is so bright and you get to experience its baroque style.

Absolutely must have place in Modica. Beautiful dome and the historical heart of the city. Interesting from historical point of view as well.

Worth a visit to see the lovely paintings and the beautiful silver coffin displayed behind glass over the entrance depicting peoples from the four continents of the world - as well as the statue of St George.

Be aware. This is a steep climb. From the main street you have to ascend by a twisting road until you think you have reached the church. You haven't. There are hundreds of steps to climb up until you finally reach the stunning Duomo. It...More
