Travelling on a coach from Sorrento to Positano, the Grotta di Fornillo was pointed out to us. Even the guide did not deem it worthy of stopping to look at this miniature representation of Positano carved into the rock. Miss it.
This is visible on the right side of the road at the main access to Positano from Sorrento. Frankly there is nothing really special about it and, if you don't see, you will have missed nothing that interesting.
As you drive into Positano look out for this clutch of little buildings cut into the rock face, forming a most unusual village. If you have a chance to stop, it is well worth strolling back and taking a closer look. Especially over the Christmas...More
