It is the entrance in the port which is very nice. After skirting the rocks, you arrive in the heart of the city, facing multiple colorful old buildings. Well located, the port has no particular interest.

Portovenere offers a very nice harbour with little boats in a dreaming atmosphere, surrounded by tall brightly coloured houses, lovely restaurants, most excellent fish restaurants; by day and in the evening very nice for a walk to the Marina.

The port area has a variety of boats to look at and to rent. It appears to be an easy port to use and enjoyed the arrival and departure of some beautiful powered and sailing boats at various times of the day.
