Trainers a must if you are doing the extensive gardens. And you must see the ship within the trees. Choose a cloudy day. The house is a collectors cavern of wonders. Your bags must go to secure free lockers. You can walk up from the...More

Beautiful grounds and the house is full of eclectic and somewhat weird collectables by its owner. It really has to be seen to be believed. Very dark and gloomy inside but very interesting to see. Could spend hours walking the grounds. Well worth a visit.

If you are in the area, this should definately be on your 'to-do' list. The house and gardens are both beautiful and eccentric at the same time and I would suggest you read up about Gabriele D'Annunzio before you go to make a bit more...More

This really is a must visit if in Gardone. We only had time to look around the whole of the gardens, mausoleum, sculptures, museum/film and still took nearly two hours. The guided tour around the house takes around an hour, so complete visit uses up...More

D’Anunzio was a genious. And his vreation of Vittoriale estate was an idea that goes faar beyond expected. I guess summer is too hot for this place, bit in spring and autumn you should reserve at least three hours for this place. It is worth...More

Be warned of the steps there must be thousands, but well worth it. The world needs crazy rich people so you can have a battle ship in your gardens. What amazing gardens they are. Book the house as you may not get in.

I’ve been to Gardone Riviera on several occasions and always wondered what this place was. From the road you can see people wandering around what looks like ancient ruins inside a fenced estate. We went in one morning and were amazed. The place is the...More

Vittoriale perfectly represents D'Annunzio's personality and thought. His confused mind and his love for passion, desire and luxury together with his experience in wars and politics contributed to create a suggestive and mysterious atmosphere. if you visit Garda Lake, you must come here. It is...More

Dear Mark I’m assuming you are actually in Garda, in the eastern side of Lake Garda. You will need to get the ferry over to Salo and then drive, or take the bus north to Gardone Riviera, which is only about 10 mins from... More
